The SupaNova HSi, short for HeatSink integrated is the second generation of the SupaNova product line. The frist generation SN-490i were designed and build with cosmetic as its driving force. The new SN-HSi came into existence with bruth power as its driving force.
To get the HSi to perform the way it was intended and with the life span we wanted - outlive the physical motorcycle. We had to build an internal metal heat sink, and moved all its power electronics outside the actual LED housing. The unit has a potential of having to dissipate 140 watts on its LEDs.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
LEDs are current devices; Not voltage. Thus they should be treated as such. We designed the proper circuit utilizing a true modulating current source to drive our LEDs to their fullest potential while staying well within their electrical specs. This allows each LED to disperse the highest photon count possible while maintaining a higher life span and low MTBF. That is why we offer a limited 2 years warrant on the SupaNova. The product is available in two basic configurations. Integrated and none-integrated.

Brighter than I expected. Level 3 brightness isn't needed. Easy install. Awesome customer service.

Installed on a 2005 Monster S2R. I still have a tail and rear turn signals, so I did not choose the integrated version. The unit did not come with installation instructions, but there's only one harness to deal with. I was able to figure out which wires to connect, some splicing is necessary. This is not plug and play if you have turn signals and a plate light. Also, the SupaBrake module is large. I had to remove the cover to the seat storage compartment to have enough room to mount the module under the seat. Installation took about an hour. Only other thing that bothered me was the tint on the smoked lens. I was hoping that the lens would be dark enough to hide the green board that the LEDs are mounted, but you can clearly see green. Wouldn't it make sense if the green was black instead? Even red would make more sense. I'll probably use spray tint to conceal the green.
Despite all these issues, I am absolutely satisfied with the quality of the product. I love the sequence on start up, and the intensity of the light output. I would highly recommend this product, and can't believe I waited this long to upgrade my clear alternatives cover and led bulb.

This is my second Vizi-Tec light because I bought another Monster. Even brighter than the first version. By far the brightest integrated light I've seen for a Monster. Worth the money.

I don't know why I waited so long to get this light. The install was very easy and I can't say enough about the craftsmanship and quality of all the parts. The HSi tail light definitely stands out and separates you in the sea of brake lights out on the road.
We all see more and more distracted drivers on cell phones and texting everyday. As a commuter, I've been using this for just a few weeks and I've noticed that driver's following distances have increased, so I know this light is getting their attention.
Thanks again to Bernard and Vizi-Tec for making such an exceptional light!

I purchased the 490i series a couple of years back. I came across this integrated tail light for my DUC via forum. I was already purchasing after markets parts through Monsterparts.com, found the vizi-tec integrated tail light and purchased it. I was told that they were in limited supply, so I had to have it. The 490i unit was malfunctioning and had some dead rows and was told it was due to overheating. Apparently I had a very early version and as I understand it, it issues are an easy fix and no longer a problem on the new units. Jeff from Monsterparts directed me to Bernard (Vizi-Tec), with no questions asked, told me to return it and the problem will either be fixed or just simply replaced. Bernard was extremely helpful, with the questions that I did have and even recommended a monthly Ducati meet in San Francisco, where I just relocated to. These guys really stand behind their products, will definitely recommend this to all my friends and anyone who will ask, where I got my aftermarket integrated tail light from. Again, great product and great service.
